How to update your meet the team page

 

Adding Meet the Team pages, updating existing content or deleting a person in the team

AMENDING AN EXISTING TEAM MEMBER’S DETAILS

 

You can change the existing details within the Meet the Team page, without creating a new team member. This would be useful in the instance where a team member has been replaced.

  • Firstly go to Configuration and select Website Pages from the Manage dropdown menu; select List
  • Look for the page entitled Meet The Team, most likely called meet_the_team, from the list of available website pages
  • Double click to open it.
  • Select the tab titled Items
  • In here you can amend the existing team members, change their picture, and add new content. Instructions on how to do this are below.

To change the contents of any Meet the Team member: 

  • As with the above, log into Configuration and select Website Pages. Press List.
    Find your Meet the Team page in the list. Double click this link to open it.
  • Click on the tab Items.
  • Find the team member whose details you wish to change.
  • NOTE: if a staff member has been replaced, you can simply amend their existing Webpageitem to the details of the new member rather than deleting and creating a whole new webpageitem for them.
  • Double click on the name you wish to change, and then make the amendments in Content and Title.
  • Select Ok to save.

    To change the photo:
  • Find the team member whose details you wish to change.
  • Once in the relevant team member’s Webpage (described as a WebsitePageItem) that you wish to amend, click on the Media tab.
  • Browse and select the new picture you wish to add, and then select Open. This will add the new picture in the Media tab.
  • Click on the old picture and right click to select Delete Media. This will remove the old picture.

    To delete an existing picture:
  • Find the team member whose details you wish to change.
  • Once in the relevant team member’s WebsitePageItem that you wish to amend, click on the Media tab.
  • Highlight the old image that you wish to delete.
  • Right click and select Delete Media.
  • Select Ok to save this change
  • Select Ok again to exist out of the meet the team area.

    To add a brand new person to your Meet the team page:
  • Firstly go to Configuration and select Website Pages from the Manage dropdown menu; select List
  • Look for the page entitled Meet The Team, most likely called meet_the_team, from the list of available website pages
  • Double click to open it.
  • Select the tab titled Items
  • From the top right, select the blue Add button.
  • Once the WebsitePageItem popup appears, select Add again. Now you can create a new page item for your new team member.
  • Change the Summary to their name, without any capitals, spaces or symbols.
  • Add a Title – typically their name or their name and Job Description
  • In Content, add the relevant information about that person
  • If you would like a second heading, scroll down to Subtitle and type in your second smaller heading there. This might be their Job Description, or their email, or telephone number.
  • Click on the Visible box to ensure it will appear on your page.
  • Select Ok to save.
  • If you would like to add an image go to the Media tab and follow the instructions above.

    Now you have created the WebsitePageItem for the new staff member, you must direct the page to include it.
  • Scroll to the bottom to where the latest entry was that you just created. Ensure it is highlighted and select Ok.
  • Select Ok when you can see the full list of team member names.
  • The changes you have made will now be visible on your site.

In the same way,  you can remove a Team Member from your Meet the Team page by clicking on Items, highlighting the team member you no longer want in the system, and right clicking to select Remove.
